Charitable Donations

The township is collecting non-perishable food items for Gleaners on a year-round basis.

Marion Township Park Advisory Committee 

Residents are welcome to attend, we encourage your suggestions. If recreation is your interest, come and join us. New members are welcome, meetings are at the Marion Township Hall.

Park #1 is located on Triangle Lake Road off W. Coon Lake. There are walking paths, soccer field and baseball diamond. Park #2 is located on the Township property just west of the Township Hall. There is a disc golf course, gazebo and picnic tables at the park for your enjoyment.   

The 2012 meetings are March 27, April 24, May 29 and June 26. 

Garden Club

You are invited to attend meetings the fourth Wednesday of the month. Meetings are at the Howell Chamber offices on Washington Street @ 7pm.

Winter Marketplace at Opera House - Sundays

The  Marketplace will be held on Sundays only. Scheduled dates are February 5th & 19th, March 4th, 11th &18th, April 5th & 22nd. A variety of items are available including fresh eggs and meats, crafts and fine art, baked goods, fresh produce and more!  Admission is free.

Wild Game Dinner, February 3rd, Friday

Howell High School is hosting a Wild Game Dinner to benefit two local non-profit organizations. The dinner will take place at the high school’s Highlander Restaurant. Proceeds from the meal will benefit The Connection Youth Services in Howell, and Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan. Tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple, and are available by calling 517-540-8312.

VINA Dental Auction, February 4th, Saturday @ 6pm

The evening begins @ 6pm at Cleary University Johnson Center with cocktails, appetizers and a silent auction. Enjoy a strolling dinner, live music at 7:30pm, live auction and dessert at 8:30pm. Auction items include vacations, theater tickets, golf packages, sporting event tickets and more! I.D. Theft Protection Workshop, February 11th, Saturday,10am

The Livingston County Michigan Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is hosting a free educational workshop designed to help protect participants from identity theft. The workshop is called Identity Theft: What You Need to Know, the 60-minute workshop will be held at Heart of the Shepherd Church, 221 N Burkhart Rd, Howell. To register for this free workshop, call Thrivent Financial’s local office at 517-545-8274. The reservation deadline is February 8th.

Walk for Warmth, February 25th, Saturday

Walk for Warmth is a indoor walk-a-thon event for the whole family. The event is Saturday, February 25th at the Hartland Educational Support Center and will raise money for people when faced with a heat shut-off notice. Register for the walk today. Howell Nature Center Winter Blah Blast - March 10th, Saturday

The Howell Nature Center Winter Blah Blast is from 6pm-9pm. Enjoy food, drinks, games, silly songs and fun challenges. The event is for ages 5 and up; adult chaperones are required. The cost is $10 per person or $90 for a table of 10. Reservations are required; call 517-546-0249.

Spring Craft & Antique Show - March 31st, Saturday, 9am - 3pm

Miller Intergenerational Center joins Brighton Community Education for an incredible event that will combine local crafters with antique lovers. The entry fee is $1, kids under 10 are free! Concessions and baked goods will be sold throughout the day with sales benefiting the Brighton Senior Center. Activities for the kids will be available for a minimal charge. Community Sale/Shred Event, May 19th, Saturday, 9am - 1pm

Marion Township is hosting a Shred Event at the 1st Community Sale of the year. Residents may bring paper for shredding to the Township offices between the hours of 9am - 1pm. Please sort paper to be sure it does not include binder clips or metal binding; staples and metal from hanging folders is allowed. 
Residency is not required to participate in the Community Sale. Spaces are on first come, first serve basis. Bring your own tables, chairs and shade covering to set up your sale area in the Parking Lot. You must take your unsold items with you at the end of the sale day. Items NOT permitted for sale include: firearms, alcohol, and pornographic material.
