                           Township History 

The information below was obtained in the book titled "History of Livingston County" , whose Author is Franklin Ellis.

         

                     The First Election in the Township  

 

Marion Township's first Election took place at the home of a Hiram Wing, on the 3rd day of April, 1837 under the organizing act that had formed the Township. The legal voters of the Township assembled and elected Guy C. Lee as the chair and appointed Hiram Wing as the Clerk. Thomas Hoskins was elected as the first Supervisor.
