                                     Recycling

Marion Township is offering recycling services for residents.

We are collecting household batteries, used cell phones for LACASA and eyeglasses for the Lions.

The collection place for these items is located in the lobby of the offices between the two double doors at the Township Hall. This service is available during regular business hours only.

                        Senior Activities

Marion Township Residents Geraldine and Tom Brownlie represented the Howell Area Seniors at a recent "Senior Prom" held in Milford. The have been married for 39 years and Livingston County residents for 23 years. If you see them at the Senior Center or around town, congratulate them on a job well done!

                        Lending Library

Marion Township has established a lending library for our residents to come in and use. Residents are encouraged to pick up or drop off books. We also have a variety of magazines. The library is open during regular business hours. Come in and check it out.

            Howell Carnegie Library

The Library has a website you may access through by clicking on the link below.

                                                www.howelllibrary.org

The Library also offers a convenient pick-up service at Parker High School.  Materials can be requested on-line and can be picked up 24 hours a day in secured-access lockers at Parker High School.  There is also a book return drop box located at Parker High School in the west wing parking lot, as well as another at the Howell Meijer store, near Customer Service. These are easy ways to pick up and return books!

                       Rain Garden

The rain garden has been planted. It is located adjacent to the parking lot. The plants in a rain garden help to purify the water and slow the water flow. Stop by when you have a chance, it's a great example of what homeowners can add to their own yards to help with drainage and water runoff.

                           LETS

LETS is a service that transports people in Livingston County. You may also use them as transportation outside the County for round trip appointments. Please click on this link for more information.             LETS.pdf

                         Storm Tips

The following are tips from Consumers Energy.

Before a storm arrives have a portable radio, flashlights and fresh batteries handy. Learn how to turn your electricity on and off at the circuit box.

During a thunderstorm or tornado unplug or turn off all unnecessary appliances. Stay away from windows, doors or porches. Don't shower or bathe.

If your home loses power, first check for a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker. Watch for fallen wires, broken utility poles or tree limbs on a power line. To report an outage or downed wire, please call 1-800-477-5050.
